The 2026 Kangaroos First Nations Guernsey is a powerful tribute to the cultural belonging and shared journeys of our past and present First Nations players. Designed by Emma Bamblett, this guernsey offers a First Nations interpretation of the club’s iconic Bounding Roo, honouring the 33 players who have represented North Melbourne and the diverse communities they come from.
Interconnected line and circle work across the chest represents the 25 distinct language groups and mobs those players belong to, celebrating connection, identity and unity. Marram, kangaroo tracks, are woven throughout the design to symbolise movement, shared paths and football journeys across generations. The guernsey also respectfully acknowledges Wurundjeri Country through subtle references to Bunjil and the MCG, grounding the artwork in place, history and respect.
