Introducing the Arden Street Elephant Cap — a tribute to one of the most bizarre moments in North Melbourne’s 100-year VFL/AFL journey.

In Round 5 of 1978, North fans packed into Arden Street expecting a classic Roos v Collingwood clash — but no one saw this coming. As part of a promotional stunt, a circus elephant was paraded around the ground, only to panic when the Magpies ran out to a deafening roar from the crowd. Chaos briefly reigned, but order was restored, and the story has since become North Melbourne folklore. To top it all off, the Kangaroos stormed home in the final quarter to beat Collingwood by nine points.
